David A. Furrow

David A. Furrow has engaged in the general practice of law for 24 years. He regularly appears before State Circuit Courts, General District Courts, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts. David A. Furrow has successfully prosecuted appeals to the Virginia Court of Appeals and the Virginia Supreme Court. Mr. Furrow is licensed to appear before all Federal Courts in Virginia, including the United States Bankruptcy Court. He has assisted in the preparation of a brief presented to the United States Supreme Court and acted as counsel in nine capital murder trials.

Mr. Furrow received an undergraduate degree with distinction from the University of Virginia in 1971. He received a Masters in Business Administration from the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1979. He is a member of the Franklin County Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar Association. David A. Furrow is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Virginia Criminal Defense Attorneys Association.

Mr. Furrow earned the distinction of being elected by his peers to serve as Bar Counsel for the area, a position requiring Mr. Furrow to represent area attorneys' views to the Virginia State Bar.

Allen W. ("A.J.") Dudley

Allen W. Dudley, Jr. has engaged in the general practice of law since December 2001, and continues to benefit from Mr. Furrow's extensive experience as a general practitioner. Mr. Dudley is an associate member with the Ted Dalton American Inn of Court.

After graduating magna cum laude from the George Mason University School of Law in 1999, Mr. Dudley clerked for a Federal Judge (the Honorable Jackson L. Kiser, Senior Judge, United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia). Between this clerkship and taking on the partnership position at Furrow & Dudley, P.C., Mr. Dudley was an associate in the commercial litigation department for McGuire Woods LLP. In 1991, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce with a concentration in Finance.

Mr. Dudley's background includes many examples of extensive research and writing, legal and otherwise. While in law school, Mr. Dudley served as managing editor for the GEORGE MASON LAW REVIEW, and also researched Congressional authority to conduct investigations for a law school professor. Mr. Dudley addresses this research at a roundtable conference attended by various participants, including C. Boyden Gray (former White House Counsel to President George W. Bush). As a co-panelist for a special report by MSNBC, Mr. Dudley discussed the potential release of video footage capturing President William J. Clinton's grand jury testimony. Mr. Dudley authored Rights to Reasonable Accommodation Under American's with Disabilities Act for 'Regarded As' Disabled Individuals, 7 Geo. Mason L. Rev. 389 (1999) and has received credit for his research in Second Generation Law and Economics of Conflict of Laws: Baxter's Comparative Impairment and Beyond, 51 Stan. L. Rev. 10011 (1999) and in Redistribution through Discriminatory Taxes: A Contractarian Explanation of the Role of the Courts, 6 Geo. Mason L. Rev. 869 (1998). Mr. Dudley's research on the corporate loan market for Loan Pricing Corporation in New York City (a position held for over three years prior to law school), was purchased by certain Fortune 500 treasurers and lenders at mid-sized to major money center institution, and led to quotations in Crain's Business, Corporate Cashflow, and Mergers & Corporate Policy.

Mr. Dudley is experienced with the legislative process, having served as a legislative aide to Delegate H. Morgan Griffith in the Virginia House of Delegates. Also, Mr. Dudley's service n Manhattan's Community Board #5 (which covered 14th Street to Central Park South) provided an opportunity to play a part in New York City governance by advising Mayor Giuliani and City Council on various issues.

Mr. Dudley serves the community as a Rotarian with the Rocky Mount Rotary Club, and as pro bono counsel for the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and the local entity which operates the CASA (court appointed special advocate) volunteer program.

Mr. Dudley is married to the former Melissa Renee Dean and has three children - Cardwell, Rayne, and Adam.
